Theme Giant Tulip Bulb – Pancratius
This Giant Tulip Bulb is full of symbolism. The most striking are the red tulips, which symbolize the red tulip in the logo of the Parish of Sint Maarten, which includes the Pancratius Church. In the winter of 2013-2014, a peregrine falcon was spotted on the tower of St. Pancratius Church. After successfully installing a nest box on November 19, 2022, there were reports of two calling and mating peregrine falcons in the Roman Catholic church tower in early February 2023, and a nest of young peregrine falcons later actually fledged. Therefore, the peregrine falcon could not be missing from this bulb. The symbols floating in the clouds are the 7 sacraments of the Catholic Church: baptism, holy communion, confirmation, confession, anointing of the sick, ordination and marriage.
