Theme Giant Tulip Bulb – Tennis bulb
On this ‘tennis bulb’ you see a tennis ball combined with flowers. The tennis bulb symbolises the former tennis club, which was located at this location. The tennis club STV has been located here since 1949 and had nine gravel tennis courts. Fun fact: the gravel from the tennis courts was dug up and re-used in the new residential area as water-permeable material under the semi-paved parking spaces. The flowers represent the name of the new construction project ‘Bloementuin’ (which means Flowergarden). The diversity of flowers on the ball emphasize the attention paid to the public area of the new residential area, with a climate-adaptive and nature-inclusive design.
