The colour of this Giant Tulip Bulb was obvious: yellow. Yellow is a colour to cheer you up! It is a warm colour, the colour of the sun, of new energy, of the tulip fields, but also of bees and honey. The artist was inspired by all these facets of the colour yellow and the Bulb Region in combination with the apartment complex. With this colourfull bulb she brings a lively ode to connection and community spirit. The roots, which return in various ways in the paintings, symbolize how we are rooted in our environment, culture and family. And how this connection lives on in the new generation. During day and at night, the work radiates warmth and energy, just like a village that never sleeps. The organic shapes, sparkling colours and recognisable motifs (such as houses, plants and stars) exude an atmosphere of cosiness and continuity. The past lives on in the present, and the present carries the future within it. This creates space for the new generation to add their own story, firmly rooted in a shared past.
