Theme Giant Bulb – Beach babes
People are a central theme in the work of Gaïd Ombre. Often displayed on the beach or in a bathing suit. That is why the choice for a beach scene was quickly made. Because the giant tulip bulb is round, something you don’t normally see with a painting and because the figures hold on to each other, a circle of connection is created.
Artist – Gaïd Ombre
After a career as a fashion designer, Gaïd Ombre switched to applied artist more than 5 years ago. She makes bronze sculptures as well as paintings. Her career is moving fast. For five years she has her own gallery in Amsterdam, Art Gallery Salon West, and her work has been included in art collections. In addition to her own gallery, Ombre exhibits at well-known art fairs such as the Kunst10daagse in Bergen, Kunstbeurs Heemstede and the First Art Fair in Amsterdam. In 2020 she was asked to participate in ‘Sterren op het doek’, a Dutch tv-program. Both her paintings and sculptures are impressionistic, and women are often a central theme in her work.
