This Giant Bulb is based on the cultivation of tulip flowers in water. The tulip bulbs are pricked on prick trays with water to raise the flowers. When the artist visited the fjords in Norway, he came up with the idea of ​​painting tulip bulbs that rise from the water like enormous mountains. This in combination with the reflections in the smooth water gives a special effect. The title is a nod to a well-known Dutch children’s song “Bibelebonse bergen”.
