The European Space Research and Technology Center, ESTEC, located between Noordwijk and Katwijk, offers tourists with its Space Expo a museum of space history. Especially for children there are educational and entertaining workshops. The beautiful dune landscape has a wealth of flora and fauna and it is ideal for walks, cycling and horse riding. The Bollenstreek has beautiful polders, ditches and traditional Dutch windmills and extensive bicycle paths. Through the Jan Verweij visitor center, tourists can prepare themselves for spotting many different types of birds, which live in the polders and the dunes. On the lakes, such as the Kagerplassen, it is excellent sailing along always changing farmlandscapes where Dutch cows are grazing and ruminating. The wide beach on the edge of the Bollenstreek is one of the cleanest beaches where you can relax in a wonderful way.

Artist – Kees Putman

Kees Putman (Noordwijk 1951) attended the royal academy of art in the Hague. As long as he can remember Kees is drawing and painting. The sea is always fascinating him.It does not matter whether it is calm, rough, caressing or bashing. Heaven and earth turn the ever-moving body of water into an endless variety of hues. Sometimes a palette with modest colors, other times he uses an intriguing range of colors. Enough inspiration for a lifetime. Landscapes and human beings also continue to fascinate him. Besides a painter, he is also a filmmaker, photographer, writer, singer and poet.
